Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Repair in Manchester
Wi-Fi greyed out, Bluetooth refusing to pair, or a connection that drops constantly. These are usually antenna or module faults and repairs start from £45.
Signs You Have This Problem
Connectivity faults are worth diagnosing properly because software and hardware causes look identical from the outside.
Wi-Fi toggle greyed out or will not switch on
A classic hardware symptom. Usually the Wi-Fi module or its antenna connection rather than a settings problem.
Connects but drops constantly
Often a damaged antenna cable, frequently after a drop or a previous repair where the antenna was not reseated.
Very short range
Working fine next to the router and useless in the next room points to an antenna fault rather than the module itself.
Bluetooth will not pair with anything
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth usually share a combined chip, so both failing together points clearly at that module.
What Causes It
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth share a single combined chip on nearly all phones, which is why they tend to fail together. The most common physical cause is a disconnected or torn antenna cable, and these run around the edge of the phone where they are vulnerable during any repair, so poorly executed previous work is a frequent culprit. Liquid damage affects this area readily too. Occasionally the fault is genuinely software, particularly after an update, and that is much cheaper to fix, which is why we always check it first.
How We Fix It
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth repairs start from £45.
We test signal strength against a known reference at set distances, which distinguishes an antenna fault from a module failure quickly and reliably. Software causes get ruled out first because they cost nothing to fix. Where an antenna is disconnected or damaged we reconnect or replace it, and where the combined module has failed we replace that. After the repair we verify Wi-Fi across bands, Bluetooth pairing with multiple device types, and check that mobile data and GPS still work correctly, since those antennas run alongside and are easily disturbed.
