Back Glass Replacement in Manchester

Cracked rear glass is not just cosmetic. It lets moisture in, catches on pockets and spreads. Replacement starts from £25 and is collected and returned across Greater Manchester.

Signs You Have This Problem

Rear glass damage tends to get worse quietly, which is why it is worth sorting early.

Cracks spreading across the back panel

Every flex of the frame extends them. What starts as one line usually becomes a web.

Glass lifting or flaking away

Loose fragments cut fingers and let dust and moisture straight onto the internals.

Wireless charging stopped working

Damage over the charging coil area can interrupt wireless charging even when the phone otherwise seems fine.

Water resistance gone

A broken rear panel is an open door. Any remaining water resistance rating is void once the glass is cracked.

What Causes It

Rear glass breaks when a phone lands face-up or on a corner, and because the back panel is bonded to the frame with strong adhesive and, on many models, sits directly over the wireless charging coil and battery, it takes the full force of the impact. Glass backs became standard once wireless charging arrived, since signal will not pass through metal. Repeated smaller knocks weaken the panel too, so a back that has already been dropped once tends to shatter more easily the second time.

How We Fix It

Back glass replacement starts from £25 fitted, depending on model.

Replacing bonded rear glass properly means controlled heat to release the original adhesive without damaging the internals underneath, then careful removal of every fragment, which is the part that separates a good job from a bad one. We fit the new panel with fresh adhesive, restoring the seal as far as any repaired phone can be sealed, and test wireless charging and the rear cameras afterwards. On some models the back glass and frame are supplied as a single assembly, which affects the price, and we will tell you which applies to your handset when we quote.

Back Glass Replacement FAQs

Is it worth fixing if the phone still works?
Usually yes. Cracked rear glass reduces resale value considerably, lets moisture in, and gets worse over time. It is one of the cheaper repairs to keep a phone in good condition.
Will wireless charging work again afterwards?
Yes, and we test it before returning the phone. If wireless charging failed because of the damage, replacing the panel normally restores it.
Can you match my phone colour?
We match the original colour wherever the part is available. If your colour is scarce we will tell you the options before ordering rather than surprising you.
Will my phone still be water resistant?
We reseal with fresh adhesive, but as with any repaired phone we advise treating water resistance as reduced rather than relying on it.
